This is the County Seat of Lincoln County. The notorious "Million Dollar" Lincoln County Courthouse was built in 1871 at an original estimated cost of $16,400.00. The combination of many things, resulted in the building finally costing the "Million Dollars" It was paid off in 1937 as the New Courthouse was being built tours are offered and it now houses a museum. Pioche is a full service community offering anything you could possibly need and is practically right next door to the great city of Las Vegas. Pioche was the most deadly mining Camp in the old west. When first settled over 70 men were killed in gunfights before anyone died a natural death there. Today Pioche attracts new residents due to its friendly quiet hometown appeal.
